Chris Collingwood NLP
I have just come back from a Sales Conference at the Mercure Raffertys Resort on the shores of Lake Macquarie NSW. The key presenter was an exceptional group faciltator and motivator by the name of Chris Collingwood. He is a renowned NLP trainer and, though I know a significant amount of NLP work has never been empirically verified, there is merit and benefit in the skills of reading of body language. It was great to see a group of highly motivated and optimistic sales people working together. http://www.inspiritive.com.au/business/management_consultants/australia/nsw/sydney/chris_collingwood.html
From my academic studies I have been interested in the historical work of Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow and the concepts of self-actualisation and self directing. This was then furthered by the studies I undertook on the work of Bandura and the self-efficacy theory. As a management and sales tool I am aware of its strengths and weaknesses. However, as with all training and learning there are certain diamonds that an individual can walk away with to continually improve.
